Hungry Jake's is a burger concept from the Netherlands. We serve 16 burgers in two lines, crazy retro burgers and double smashburgers, and our Burger Lab drops a brand-new creation every month. Every single burger is built from one tight pantry of just 30 ingredients.

Are all Hungry Jake's burgers halal?
All our meat is halal except the bacon: every beef patty, smash patty, pulled beef and crispy chicken is halal, and there is no alcohol in any recipe. Five burgers come with regular (pork) bacon: Smoke & Blue, Crispy Chicken & Blue, Smash & Blue, Smash BBQ and Honky Tonk Smash. Order any of them with halal turkey bacon instead to make it halal. Every other burger is halal as served.
Can I get halal turkey bacon instead of regular bacon?
Yes. Every Hungry Jake's burger that comes with bacon can be ordered with halal turkey bacon instead. Just choose the turkey bacon option when you order.
Why does Hungry Jake's use halal meat?
Because everybody likes burgers. Using halal beef and halal chicken means Muslim guests, and anyone else who eats halal, can order from the whole menu with friends and family instead of hunting for the one option that suits them. Same burgers, same taste, a seat at the table for everyone.
What is a smashburger?
A smashburger is a ball of beef pressed flat onto a very hot griddle so the edges caramelise into a crispy, deeply browned crust. At Hungry Jake's every smashburger uses two 60 g beef smash patties (three on the Honky Tonk Smash) with caramelised onion pressed straight into the meat.
What is the difference between a retro burger and a smashburger at Hungry Jake's?
Retro burgers are built on our classic thick patties: a 180 g beef patty (or crispy chicken or a plant-based patty) loaded with bold, over-the-top toppings. Smashburgers are thin, double-stacked patties smashed on the griddle for maximum crust and flavour.
How often does Hungry Jake's launch new burgers?
Constantly. Our Burger Lab develops new burgers all the time and a new creation drops every month. Some become permanent menu items; others are limited editions.
Why does Hungry Jake's use so few ingredients?
Every burger, old or new, is built from one tight pantry of 30 ingredients. Each ingredient is used in about 3 burgers on average. That keeps everything fresh, cuts food waste, and lets us invent new burgers without adding new stock.
Does Hungry Jake's have a vegetarian burger?
Yes. The Green Garden has a plant-based patty, truffle aioli and smoked gouda.
What is the spiciest burger at Hungry Jake's?
The Nashville Chicken is our hottest burger (heat 3 of 3). Firecracker, Asian Delight and the Double Fire smashburger are close behind.
Where can I order Hungry Jake's burgers?
Order online via Thuisbezorgd. We deliver from our kitchen in Ermelo to Ermelo and surroundings, Harderwijk and Putten. Pick your town on the order page. Haarlem and Almere are coming soon.

Our beef, smash patties, pulled beef and chicken are halal. Why? Because a great burger should be for everyone. With halal meat, Muslim guests, and anyone else who eats halal, can order from the whole menu with friends and family, instead of hunting for the one thing that suits them. Same burgers, same taste, everyone at the table. Burgers with bacon come with regular bacon; ask for turkey bacon instead and it's halal too.
